The bolt of the rudder bellcrank under the tunnel ahead of the trim wheel sometimes rides on the inside of the tunnel and eventually cuts a groove in the tunnel and then a hole.
Cessna never formally cured the problem for the planes in the field, but they did change the design in the factory to add cutouts for more clearance and hat sections over the cutouts.
