Cessna Pilots Association

Hi Folks. This isn't a 140 questions but I wonder if you of you don't have an opinion. I'm purchasing a 182 and have joined the Cessna Pilots Association as a resource to maintin the plane. They have a 15-ish hour on-line program that is supposed to expose you to everything 182. It's $600! I don't mind spending the money of its worth it, but dont want to waste my money either. Has anyone taken one of these CPA courses?

Dave, personally I don't think you would be wasting your money at all. Those courses are designed to help owners of their perspective aircraft learn more about the particular Cessna design they own. No doubt you'll learn about all the AD's and Service Bulletins that the Cessna Pilots Association deems important based on the model and year of your 182. Additionally you'll probably also learn some special points as to what an A&P/IA should look at pertaining to the airplane that may or may not be common knowledge. If you would like some more information I strongly recommend that you give the CPA a call, and discuss the course outline and syllabus with them. Let us know what you find out.

Depends on how long you’ve been flying/owning.
The 182 is still a 100 series Cessna. My 182P is pretty much the same except for the 2 extra cylinders and the constant speed prop, oh and the 1,200 pounds useful load.
I joined the Cessna Pilots Society. Reminds me a lot of here, nice knowledgeable people.
