That is (was) a repair...

The fact that it failed doesn't bode well for another repair.

(So, the answer to your question is "yes". ;) )

I'm certainly not an expert on this repair, but it appears that the bulkhead is .032, and the repair .025. I would think that would contribute to the failure. Now, my eyes are 72 years old, so they may be slightly out of calibration!

There's a picture of this repair started in the Aviation Market Place forum of this site, in the "1946 Cessna 120 project - price reduced" post.

Click on the restoration photos site, scroll down to the bottom row of the "Maule Tailwheel" section, next to last couple of photos.
