SUN & FUN 2021

Post by 6898 »

We had a great trip and good times at S&F. We left northern IL. Sat. morning and met up with Scott and Linda Ross (member at large / sec. tres.) in central IL. Took our time spent 2 nights at campgrounds along the way. Sun and Fun was a great turn out and the weather was perfect with upper 70's day and mid 60's at night. The type tent table is at the west end of the event and by the vintage building so makes for good viewing when the airshow starts too. Thanks to our members that stopped by and met with us. With the lingering of Covid we were limited to classroom space and unsure if that could be had so the TECH. meeting was a one on one with David Lowe at the table. David flew in from Winter Haven each day with his Texas Taildragger 150 awesome job and from a distance a youth looking 180! We put 3,800 miles 9 states and 7 campgrounds on our trip seeing family and friend's on the east coast with the return trip back. Cindy has a National parks book thanks to Mark Pasqualino (met at Dayton Convention 2008) which is a great thing to have . Those parks are very educational and you never know where the plane or camper will take you. Our last stop was Kentucky and visited the "ARK ENCOUNTER" largest wooden structure in the world. Look it up its worth the trip. Hope to see all of our members in Georgia for 2021 convention.

Thanks for representing our gang at Sun'N'Fun. Great that things went well. Was David Lowe really flying a 'Texas Taildragger'? Ouch! Seems I remember him saying that particular conversion didn't cut the mustard.
