New Owner Typical Gear

Post by 8275 »

So, I am new owner. What do you guys use:

1. Tie Down Kits? The Claw?
2. Sun Shades? and/or travel covers?
3. What other misc gear should I carry? (Other than my flight bag stuff, I have control of that stuff).

Any tips...

1. The Claw. Position the claw directly under the tie down ring. It is meant to grab equally with all three spikes. Don't leave it in the plane, only when you are going to be tieing down outside.
2. headset, noise canceling. (I love my Telex Stratus 50, works good for little heads)
3. vinyl stick on sun shades. AOPA used to give them out at fly ins, and they fit perfectly on the skylights.
4. Cover if you are keeping it outside.

Don't fill up the back with crap. You don't have that big of a useful load, and too many people use the plane as the storage area. Keep it light and have fun!

Thank you, I appreciate the input.

I bought the The Claw kit, I also have a Bose A20's and Lightspeed Zulu 3's, so I'm good there.

Was looking at a solar shade kit, I'm in FL. Any recommendations for that? To cover the entire windscreen.

I am not familiar with the solar shade kit. We just use the small ones when flying and have a larger cover for storage. We don't use any type of sun visor.
