Density Altitude to compare climb performance

Was pondering climb performance and I was thinking that for comparing different aircraft maybe there should be the same density altitude across the board for starters. I was getting maybe 1100fpm briefly yesterday on a cool morning near sea level at KVUO (yeah, it's a climb prop on steroids with an 0-200, 80mph indicated with a slight head wind, -400'DA), but how would I compare that with other 140's? If we were all on the same 'density altitude' that would level the playing field. Or, maybe I'm over-thinking this...

That would be good info.

I see 1000 fpm on a good cool day, but typically less than that, although I almost climb out at 80 indicated.......
0-200, fabric wings, standard prop.

That sounds comparable. Just for entertainment I thought I would try a few 'time to climb' to 1000'AGL, here's what I got a few days ago...full fuel and me

DA 500' 1:41 900fpm mostly

DA 1300' 1:34 950fpm mostly
