Hello All,

Just bought a Cessna 140/100hp at Lockhart Municipal, TX (near Austin), and am looking for someone who would be interested in flying it up to Warwick Municipal, NY (near New York City). Ideally am looking for someone with min 25 hours in model/ 100hrs tail wheel and 500 hrs PIC. I would like the aircraft in New York by end of January. Aircraft is very well maintained, but is VFR only.

Please pm me if interested.

Thanks, Steve

Let me know when you get it up this way. I am in CT - would love to pop over and have a look at it. Flying a 172 mostly right now, but working on wrapping up my tailwheel endorsement (in a classic Cub) and working on a deal that will give me access to a 120 as well. Very much looking forward to that! I fly out of MMK and 4B8 (we have an Archer too, with them rotated between the two airports).

Hi Drew,
I will do that! I'll PM you my contact information, and we can do some flying soon.

I am transitioning to the 140 from a J-3, so we should have lots to talk about.

Yes, I found a very qualified pilot to bring the aircraft up this month, thanks to this forum.
Thanks all for your help!

I ended up doing the flight myself, with a CFI. What an adventure! Cold though.. Coldest was taking off from Ohio, where it was 11 degrees F.
As recommended by members here, I taped the front intakes as shown in this picture and taped the blast tube inlet at the back of the front engine compartment. Kept oil temp at a tolerable 150 degrees.

Steve, that sounds like an adventure. You should post a write-up and pics.
