New Axels?
I have a ‘47 120 based in AK. I have 26” GY that I’ll be swapping on next week. Based on what I’ve been reading I should also upgrade my axels. Which specific axel does the group recommend? Best place to buy? Are the grove axels solid or hollow? TIA

Re: New Axels?
We have Grove with a field approval . Solid and very nice quality also reasonable priced. Several options on mounting hole location and size of hole.

Re: New Axels?
They are solid. I can also tell you that the originals weigh 11.9oz each and that Groves weigh 1# 5.1oz each. Are the grove axels solid or hollow?
You will need to check the bolt patterns on the Grove sight to match what you have.
The Grove site has some 337 examples you can use. They are not an STC installation, they are a 337 installation.

Re: New Axels?
Check out Cessna SNL-60. Install Cessna ski axels. Have a machine shop drill out your struts to size with a slight chamfer on the holes. Should be able to do with a log sign off as a minor alteration.
