New hangar neighbor, what brakes are these?

Post by 6597 »

Gorgeous Commonwealth Skyranger moved a few doors down, we were discussing putting Cleveland on his bird as the existing brakes are marginal at best. What are these? I only know Clevelands on 140's....

Goodyear.

Make sure the clips holding the disks in place don't come loose or you'll stand it on it's nose!

Sadly, I drove to my hangar this afternoon and noticed that beautiful bird apparently groundlooped to the right, minor damage to the right landing gear and some scratches under the right wingtip. The owner had commented to me the day before how he really didn't like those brakes so I thought to do some homework for him. Just as you say, he was fidgeting with those button-like things apparently holding the clips in, they seemed to work their way out.

No STC for the Skyranger though I read that folks somehow convert over to the Clevelands. Will do my best to help him recover
