I appreciate the input. My solution for about 40 years in aircraft without a built in switch has been similar to Michael's, the inline PTT switch from Telex with Velcro attachment to either the yoke or more often my left index finger. With in on my finger it is always ready to be pushed with my thumb no matter where my hand is. The Garmin GTR200 has inputs for pilot and co-pilot PTT so I figure this is the time, while installing the new radio, to provide a built in solution and eliminate the coil cord in the cockpit.
I am thinking PTT switches on either side of the throttle.
While in the left seat - right hand on throttle, switch easiest accessed on the right side of the throttle with index finger.
While in the right seat - left hand on the throttle, switch easiest accessed on the left side of the throttle with index finger.
I want to avoid 'messing up' my yokes, very original, etc etc blah blah ... sorry, I'm that way about it. Even the PTT next to the throttle would need to be on brackets that would not require additional holes in the panel.
Still planning. Keep the photos coming, great idea starters.

I kept the velcro switches, just wrapped the coil around the yoke shaft then behind the panel. It works great and keeps the wire from dangling all over the place.
I recently installed a GTR200 and just cut the wire and wired the PTT switches directly to the radio. Easy peasy. Here's a photo of mine:

Sorry I don't have a pic...but, the one I "flew" was on the left, but approx. the same position there as Randy's is on the right...and, it's a full size momentary toggle (...down with thumb or finger for PTT). Mac

I like the idea of a momentary toggle next to the throttle, I may have to re-think my PTT.
