Yes, but then you cannot legally fly at night.

(If you left the string in place you could pull it back... Or, fashion a mounting ring and cut the hole bigger and mount it from the top.)

I going to work on it as see if I can make it operable. I'm sure I can get it back in there, it will just take some time and ingenuity.
