Mac, did you buy yours from the same Ebay seller? If so, then they would be a good buy. I think I'll send him a message thru Ebay to confirm the I.D.

Thanks for all the lube suggestions. My lube question is for lubing the outside of the ball and/or the inside of the 2 piece socket that the ball rotates in that's attached to the instrument panel.

Franklin, I have no doubt that if you were to make some more of those, they'd be gone in one evening! I'd be in for a set if you decide to make some. The price at McMaster is $3.58 per ball. No idea what the shipping would be.

I'd make my own if I had a way to make the hole in them.

Any way, thanks again for all the input from everyone.

Yes. ...better still, send me a mail address (in PM) and I'll send you a set. If they work, they cost nothing -- if they don't work, they cost nothing :D . (FWIW, I believe that they're NOS that were used by Cessna and others. This Ebay seller deals in a LOT of surplus stuff & IMO ended up with a box full and prob didn't realize what they are/what they fit...and, didn't measure accurately. ;) ) FWIW, I did have a set of those from McMaster(Terry LaBonte's old crew chief precision drilled for me) that worked OK for a few years, but saw the opportunity for "new OEMs" & grabbed a few -- they work well. ...glad to share with you! If the ebay bearings don't work out let me know, I'll setup my lathe / mill and make another batch. I charge $25 each. PM pookie313@gmail.com

Perhaps it would work out best to just remove yours, clean them thoroughly and re-install with some light silicone.

Thanks, Franklin. Appreciate the offer.

Victor, that was my original plan. They're cleaned up and ready to reinstall. Franklin posted the inside dimensions of the ones he makes, and the I.D. of mine are .025 larger than his. I'm sure it work fine to use them, but since I have it apart I thought I would try to locate some new parts.

O the joys of rebuilding these great planes! It really is fun to work on them.
