Trying to get my 3200 aligned with king pin bolt at correct angle. Are there tapered washer type fillers available that would change the angle.I have both tailwheer springs and neither gets me to the right angle . Do I have to get the spring angle changed?

Well got the tailwheel assembly and new springs test fitted today. Unfortunately the AN7 bolt that came with it is too long, so I’ll have to get a -17 or -20, then I can get the chains installed.

I also think since I’m down here I might just replace the leaf spring pack, mine appears to be a little tweaked, and without knowing the history/age of it I might as well just change them now.

Should the chain tension be set with the tailwheel in the air or on the ground?

I would say on the ground. The Scott instructions make no mention of raising the tailwheel of the ground.

On the ground. (Steering is not critical when the tail wheel is not on the ground.) There is not supposed to be any tension, just minimal slack.

Some folks (like me) put the springs on the tailwheel rather than the rudder horn. That way should something come loose the springs don’t beat up the elevator trailing edges.

I remember seeing a video on how to adjust the tension on the springs. You tube maybe?

Rick you are correct - I watched it on you tube probably within the last 6 -9 months.

Here's a video on setting up the tension on the Scott Baby Bush tail wheel. The process should be the same with the 3200 tail wheel. It appears the springs are compression springs as opposed to the springs called for in the Scott 3200 Tail Wheel Installation Instructions.
