The nipple is a pipe (tapered) thread. It could have been the source of the leak. The two bolts pass through the brake housing and secure the indirect brake pad to the other side of the housing. The nuts hold the anchor pins, which is what the brake assembly slides on. There is no fluid associated with either of them. The fluid is contained in the housing. There are only three openings: the piston bore and the two fittings.
Hope the leak stays away. Consider it a Christmas miracle!
