Re: Propeller Dynamic Balancing
Thanks John and Randy for your observations!
The whole thing started when I was watching a YouTube video of a gentleman doing touch and goes on a C-140 with a GoPro camera showing part of the panel and the outside. I noticed that his videos were almost vibration free. My videos from about the same location show a lot of vibration.
I have the C-85-12F, the same as the guy in the videos, but my prop isn’t clocked right which I will do. I hope that doing that will help me with the vibration.
I have downloaded a couple of Vibration Apps for the IPhone which I am planning to use to take measurements as it is now and after clocking the prop correctly. If for some reason the vibration does not show improvement then I will try to add weights at random (as per the pictures above) to see if I can make the vibration diminish or go away using the App. Of course the best way would be to hire someone and use the DynaVibe or the ACES System to dynamically balance the prop and pay $300.00 to do it!.

Re: Propeller Dynamic Balancing
I don't think that's a good idea. You could cause some sort of harmonic resonance and end up breaking something.

Re: Propeller Dynamic Balancing
$300 is cheap in airplane world. That's less than sending an instrument to Rudy Aircraft Instruments for repair after it dies due to excessive vibration.
