We are looking to replace our pull-start O-200 starter with something better... It looks like B&C and SkyTec are the two choices, and both use a push button for start.
Are there any "Key" start conversions, or are they all push-button type? Anyone have any experience either way?
Our mechanic seemed to have a poor opinion of the push-button starter conversions but I think it's been awhile since he did a conversion .
Not sure why he'd feel that way. The only difference between push button and key start is the switch itself. Get yourself a $500 key start mag switch and keep him happy! (JK!)

I just ordered a skytec for the fresh O200 that will be hung on the 140 in the next few weeks. I had no idea which was best so I just threw a dart at the board.
BTW, in a few weeks I will have an old starter in solid working condition for sale.

The key mag switch in my Mooney provides this function. When turned all the way to the right you punch in for the starter. It is personal preference I suppose, but I really see zero advantage to that as compared to the push button replacement for the pull cable and it would be a much less expensive choice.
