Single to dual brake pedals

I recently purchased a set of dual brake pedals to convert my single set. I am guessing these will use the same brake system that the single set uses but the system of levers applies pressure from the right seat. Are there any pitfalls or advice I should be aware of on installation? Steve

It helps to know someone that is very flexible............Other than that. A straight forward installation. No surprises.

IIRC, those bearing blocks are magnesium. Unless they're in pristine shape, get the plastic replacements. Tape the nut to the tip of your finger and hold it in place while you thread each bolt in... (Find the right finger tip ahead of time!)

OK guys, dumb question time. Are there still only two springs when you convert the single brake set of peddles to the dual? Or are there four? The parts manual only shows a diagram of single brake peddles and the forum Cessna Reference Manual has nothing at all. Reason I ask is that the set I purchased is missing the spring with the long hooks and its attaching clip (see attached pic). Can I just migrate the existing springs on my single set or do I need more than two springs? Any help is appreciated.

And John, thanks for the note on the magnesium. We went back and gave them a careful look. They appear to be in good shape. If one were to get the plastic mounts, where is the source for those? Are the plastic mounts for the Cessna 150 interchangeable? Thank you. Steve

There will only be two springs. The 150 bearing blocks are the same.

Another dumb question -- does this installation require an STC & 337 given this was optional factory equipment? Thanks, Steve

No. An STC is approval to install something that is not otherwise approved. Any thing on the type certificate is automatically approved and the installation is a minor modification. An STC amends the type certificate.
A 337 is the form used to record a major repair or a major modification. Not major, no 337...
