The parts catalogue specifies a AN822-6B for the fuel line-to-carb (Stromberg) connection. Mine is the OEM brass, but needs replacing. ...wondering if it's safe & "legal" to replace with aluminum or steel equivalent? With a quick search of the usual suppliers I'm not finding the brass fittings...except for a used one being sold on Ebay as a "collector's item" . Mac

Can we read between the lines and note that "collectors item" means "lotsa moola?" As in grandiose price tag? I wouldn't recommend aluminum, I went with steel for mine. I like the additional strength. Make sure you get the proper Aviation flare end.

Yep..."collectors" apparently means low (well used) quality & lotsa moola :) . Steel it will be -- thanks! I agree.

Brass and steel are equivalent. Aluminum is not an acceptable substitute. The brass part would have been AN822-6 (no letter after.) AN822-6S (was) is the steel equivalent. The "modern" part number is MS20822-6. ECAS says that would be steel.

I was editing while you responded. Here's the update:

That said, Preferred Airparts is showing 3 used AN822-6, which should be brass. Be sure to ask.
Here's another one:
Vendor Name: WHITE AERO INC
Phone Number: 661-268-8070
They're showing 20 pieces listed as serviceable.
I've purchased from both of them in the past.

Here's another. I don't think I've ever bought from them, but they are listing 3 pieces new surplus.
Vendor Name: KRN Aviation Services
Phone Number: 480-961-8952

Send me a PM and I'll check when I get home. Might have a nice shiny new one available. I believe new was maybe $20 at the most. I'll check the part # tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks again, all! I've got a new steel on the way from Spruce. My IA "approves" so probably will just go with it. Mac

We purchase many parts from KRN. Good company to work with.
