The Cessna 120-140 Association Forum

Does anyone know of a place to find “modern” conversions for many of the screws listed in the Cessna parts manual? I’m specifically looking for a PK79XZ-8-8 but somewhere that has all of the conversions can be useful in the future.

It has taken me a lifetime to learn all this stuff, and half of what I know is just where to look for the info. And you want one stop shopping?

PK = Parker-Kalon. As far as I know, all PK screws are sheet metal threads and self taping. 8-8 means #8 screw, 8/16" (1/2") long. 79XZ is the style. Unfortunately, I don't know what that means, and there is no readily available data. Where is it used?

Found another one. This one has descriptions of several PK screws... Button head, countersink, lengths.

The only PK79XZ-8-8 I can find in the C140A parts catalog is on page 3, figure 1, reference number 1-18. It attaches the wing to windshield fairing. It's the only PK screw that I could find that doesn't use some sort of Tinnerman nut.

According to the listing, this is a 8-10SS screw (#8 screw, 5.8" long, stainless steel).

If the equivalent part number they list is correct, it is a 100 degree countersunk Phillips head.
