Extended luggage compartment

Recently purchased a 1948 C140 that has an STC'd extended baggage area. I'm going to redo the interior and really don't need the extra space. However, when they did the STC, they removed the aft headliner support and compartment panel. I have only seen the video on replacing the headliner where this support is referenced. I assume a bulkhead panel can be fabricated out of .025 alum. What is the cross member made of? Looks from the video as a c channel.
Thanks

I can't help with your question, but would you mind posting photos of what the extended baggage area looks like? I haven't seen that before for the 120/140.

I don’t know what gauge, but it is a very thin C channel in my late model 140. I can get dimensions if you need them. Send me a pm with a phone number and I can take pictures and text them to you in the AM.

I misspoke, it was not an STC but a 337. Attached are some pictures.

Do you mean a field approval? (An STC still requires a 337.) Can you post a picture of the front of the 337?

A oldie! The stamp and signature in block 3 is a field approval.

Interesting. You can carry 33 pounds of baggage but not a passenger?

Even more interesting, you can carry the equivalent of 90 lbs of auxiliary fuel in what I assume, the 80 lb baggage area. That's in addition to the 33 lbs in the extended baggage. At least that's my take-away from the 337.
Question to the owner, is the battery box in the stock location? Verses being moved to either within the front baggage area or on the firewall?
When I saw the first post, I assumed it would peak a lot of interest. It did mine!
And thanks for posting the information! I for one appreciate it and I think others here do too!
