Anyone know what the stock pipes are made from?
I got my replacement ones in today and it appeared that they may be Stainless, unsure I put a magnet to them, now a lot of Stainless is magnetic so you can’t be sure that way, but you can be sure that if it’s not magnetic that it’s not mild steel.
Anyway they were not magnetic, but I tried my old stock pipes and they are not magnetic either?

Are the stock pipes Inconel? They look awful rusty, but as I said they aren’t magnetic.
Surely it’s not Monel?

My originals appear to be steel...but don't attract a magnet either (...just the flanges). My "owner supplied repaired" (reproductions) are definitely SS, however. Will be interesting if someone knows what the OEMs are made of. The process for determining if inconel in field prob isn't practical. At this point my guess is that Cessna did in fact use pipes made of inconel. Mac
