Small area of Wing Paint/Dope Cracks

I reviewed the thread from Dec and instead of piling on that I will start a new one. The pic attached is roughly a 5”x5” area on top of wing twd trailing edge of my 140. The wings were recovered late 70’s I’ll have to verify the method but I think it’s Ceconite. Plane has been hangared and this is the only fabric issue we have found.
Are small localized needed repairs like this common practice?

There're certainly more expert/experienced answers out there...but, IMO, I'd say that's "repairable" & may be straightforward if Ceconite/dope(?) via "rejuvenation". From the pic it appears that the UV protection may still be intact. It would seem that best case might be to spray with the proper rejuvenator & blend with top coat. Again, identifying the exact method and product(s) used for the cover and following the manufacturer's directions will be vital to maintaining strength & airworthiness. Mac

Agree with Mac although would add in that usually once the existing dope starts to crack and considering the age, rejuvenator mixed with top coat may address the issue but I would tend to think the cracks are likely to return. Once the old dope looses its elasticity, I haven't seen a real effective way to get it back. Having said that, it would still buy you time and keep the fabric protected. As Mac notes, use whatever techniques and products that are approved for the system.
We've been battling cracks on our 72 Super Viking which has the original Ceconite and dope on it from 1972. Same situation where it has been hangared. Cracks can be a real PITA to fix permanently in a localized fashion.

Thanks for the replies. I have reviewed my logs and the right wing was recovered in 1975. Logs state :Right wing covered with Stits Aircraft Poly Fiber. STC #SA 1008WE
