Hi all

My poor tail has over 75 years had a hell of a beating, and I'm considering installing abrasion boots.

Any advice, comments or experiences with this?

Much thanks
Si

Hey mate, just tighten your seat belt/shoulder harness! :D Oh, I thought you meant your 75 years, finally realized you were talking about the Cessna empennage! I have in years past and now considering it again, putting wide electrical tape on the leading edges - work out well and can easily be renewed when desired. Ages ago, I used some 4" wide electrical tape on the wing leading edges, not the 140.
Hope you didn't experience sleet or hail.
Apologize for the pun -"the 'debil' made me do it"! :D

Welcome aboard, I don't think I've seen you before.

 Brilliant!

My own tail is only 45 years, but feels 75 years some mornings!

Be sure whatever you use that it can be removed. I bought my Maule it had clear abrasion tape of some kind, it had begun to crack and had some kind of mold growing in it, I had to strip the leading edge and repaint, you could not remove that stuff without chemical stripper that ate paint.
It was on the struts and landing gear too, the struts I had powder coated, one day I’ll get around to that on the 140 too, best thing you can do to steel tubing.
