Tailwheel adjustment Scott 2000/3-24

Is there an adjustment for tailwheel steering?
Problem: I try turn right and it doesn’t respond as quickly as it does to the left. I put in full right and it barley turns and most time I need to tap the right brake. Not good on landing I tried doesn’t end well. New tailwheel pilot
I need to try and rectify this. Any help or drawings on the system would help.

Not something that can easily be answered, can you send some pics of what tailwheel unit you have? We need a little more to go on. There are several flavors of tailwheels on our birds.

I had a similar issue and discovered that the wrong turnbuckle was used on one side. Sounds like a pedal or a tail springs adjustment perhaps. PM me with a number and I would be happy to call and share my experience - might help…

OK, from that we can deduce that you have a Scott 2000 or 3-24.
What kind of steering springs do you have installed? Are they both the same? This tailwheel is sensitive to the type of and tension on the springs. If you lift the tailwheel off the ground and operate the rudder pedals stop to stop, does it turn equally in both directions? Is the wheel vertical when viewed from behind, or is it canted to one side or the other? When the plane is loaded, what is the angle of the steering axis when viewed from the side?

I found on my airplane that the spring tensioned lever arms that fit into the notches on the top of the fork shaft (Scott 2000) and hold the tailwheel in orientation with the rudder were worn. As a result, they weren't grabbing the shaft as well as they should and steering was very sloppy. I ended up biting the bullet and buying a replacement arm assembly from Univair. I took the old unit apart and sure enough, there was a big difference between the geometry of the arms from new to old (very worn). Notches on the fork were in great shape (luckily).
Not sure if that is your issue, but thought I would share my problem and solution with you.
