Hi all

Looking to upgrade my 6'' wheel on my Cessna 140 serial number 9203, October 3rd, 1946 to 8''

The plane is under Danish (EASA) Legislation Annex I and this means that if it is originally approved by the FAA or in a STC approved by the FAA I am allowed to make this change (No Field approvals etc. though)

I was told that upgrading to 8'' wheels does not require a STC, however a good idea with the solid axis.

Anyone that can point me in direction of where to find approved axis for 8'' wheels for the Cessna 140?

Do you mean 8.00x6"? Here is the Type Certificate info on landing gear for our birds. The 'wheels' are 6" and the 'tires' are either 6.00, 7.00, 8.00

The nominal outside diameter of the tires is apx. 17", 18", 19" based on Goodyear Tires.
I am not familiar with 8" 'wheels' on our birds, but we do have a variety of 'tires' to choose from.

The only alternative 'axles' that we have are through Grove Aircraft for their solid aluminum axles, the bolt pattern varies on our gear legs but they offer several iterations. It would be a Form 337 in this country.

They have either the 5/16" bolt holes or on request the 1/4" bolt holes. 5/16" use standard AN bolts. 1/4" use NAS144/MS20004
