Cabin heater cable

Apparently the cable that activates cabin heat is broken.
Any tips for replacing it?

I have "heard" that a NAPA part number 731-1121 choke cable will work for this sort of thing. May even be able to leave the old outer cable in place and just pull out the inner wire with the knob attached. See if the replacement wire will slip inside the old housing. Or just change out the entire push-pull control cable. Hope this helps. Bill

I was able to find a control with the same diameter wire (which was broken) (the old one, not the new one...) and silver solder the new wire to the old knob, for authenticity.
