I am trying to figure out if the paint style on my 120 is from the factory. This is the last 120, build date April 18, 1949. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If it isn't original.........it's awfully close. The paint on the bottom of the front of the cowling is the only part I question. The 140's especially the 140A's had a semi crescent as the paint left the louvers and went to the bottom of the cowling, your front cowling "band" has straight edges. I'm pretty sure that's correct, but I see so few late C120's still painted original that I'm not sure. I'll reach out to a few people and see if they have original sales brochures.

My guess is that the lower cowling and nosebowl are not the original. The look like they are from a later 140 or 140A. But, who knows what the last 120 manufactured had as new. All 120’s I have seen have 5 strips on the cylinder vents. The later 140’s had the three strips like yours.
