Lubrication - AN-0-6a as called out in the operators manual
Is there a general consensus on what oil to use for general lubrication to replace what's called out in the operators manual: AN-0-6a General Purpose light machine oil? - perhaps LPS1 or or LPS2?

You're probably going to get a list of recommended products.
These work just fine.
-BOESHIELD T-9 PROTECTANT (available from Spruce and others)
-LPS #1 - light duty dry type lubricant whereas LPS #2 is heavy duty type lubricant that leaves and oily film. (Personally it's been my experience that with a heavier spray type lubricant, the area is also prone to collecting more dirt over time)
CRC556 - light duty type lubricant.

T-9!!!!! Price is steep but used it on the power head of my boat engine ( Florida Gulf ) since new in 2001. lasted 10 -15 years longer than a non treated engine. I witnessed the proof. JEFF

Yeah! Last time I went looking for a can I found it at the marina.
(If you have a Bass Pro Shop near by, I think they carry it, too.)

Checked with Spruce and Bass Pro Shop on T-9 and LPS#1, all very close in price these days. Approximately $17-$19 per can. On a good note, one can lasts a long time.
