Does anyone know if there is an STC to install a heated pitot tube in a 140?
I am trying to convert a 140 into an IFR trainer and it is my understanding that every IFR-certified plane requires a heated pitot tube.

I think you will find there is nothing available. That I'm aware of.........that being said......May not be too big of a deal to convert a C-150 unit?

I've seen a 140A with a heated pitot tube from a Cessna 150. Installation however, would require a one time field approval to install it on the wing.

My Cherokee 180 is IFR certified and does not have a heated pitot tube.
You just do not fly where there is a chance of icing.

A heated pitot tube is not required if you are operating under part 91. Might be a good idea, though... If you're in IFR conditions, there must be moisture in the air...

Not required.
Wouldn’t take a 140 into cold clouds anyhow.
It’s a fixed pitch prop aircraft with a small speed band. In a pinch, sound and rpm is a good proxy.
