Wheel Pant Bolt

My 140A came with a button head allen head screw for the axle attachment. The book calls for an AN6C-5A. Is this what people are using to secure their pants or the dressed up hex head? Is it a concern that there is no way to safety wire or secure the bolt with pants installed? Wonder if people are using lock title on the threads or another method. Thanks.

I'm using the AN bolt. Once I had it work out maybe 1/2 a turn.

I use a flat washer and a lock washer on my axel nut.

Tom, you should use the AN6-5A cad bolt as indicated in the 140A parts book instead of AN6C stainless. You can still find the AN936-B616 washer, but I think you'll have an easier time finding the MS35335-35 washer (for 3/8" bolt) instead which has outside locking stars (type B) as with the original AN936-B616. I'd tighten to the bolt with washer to:
AN6 3/8-24 bolt - 160-190 inch pounds or 13.3-15.8 foot pounds

My parts catalog says AN6-5A, no "C". As Mike said, the AN936B is a external toothed lock washer. That number has been has been superseded by MS35335.
