Prop Balance

Post by bkozura »

Does anyone have a recommendation in the PA/DE/MD/NJ area for a prop balance? I have the “skullcap” and not a spinner. Suggestions are appreciated.

Bret,

When I had my engine overhauled a number of years ago, I was told that they cannot dynamically balance with a skull cap spinner. Has to be a regular spinner. Not sure if anyone has a work-around for that, but that's the story as I understand it.

I second what Mike said. I had a guy come out to balance my prop. When he arrived he said "Oh, hell, I forgot to ask if it was a skull cap. I can't balance these." Turned around and left.

I was able balance ours with a Dyna Vibe Classic 71 50 prop 90hp with skull cap spinner. Was a noticeable positive difference. PM me if details are needed.
