It is pretty straight forward. Was there something in particular that you are concerned about?

It’s pretty much pull. However, I’ve always found that breaking the action into sort of two steps seems to increase longevity - pull until the obvious free travel is taken up, then smooth pull through to engage starter gear and energize.
I.e., it’s not a lawnmower pull starter though I’ve seen people treat it as such.

Good advice. Also, make sure the mechanism is correctly adjusted. If the switch closes before the starter gear is fully meshed, or at least properly tensioned, bad things can happen. See SLN-13 in the resources section of the main web site.
