Rosin Visor

Post by 6930 »

Hi,

Thinking of installing a Rosin (or other brand?) visor in my 140. Was interested in hearing from people that have a visor installed what they think of it along with any feedback on the installation process.

Thanks in advance!

Mike, I'm confident that there are some around with them, but the only ones I recall are in Orville Winnover's pristine 140A down in Tyler, Texas. Orville's contact info. should be available, so you might reach out to him. Mac

When they were first approved for our aircraft I seriously thought about it and talked to them at OSH. Thinking the price changed my mind , but I need something landing on 26 at our field this time of year is a real challenge. Keep in touch JEFF

Thanks, Mac and Jeff!

Yes, the price is pretty darned steep. Hesitant to make the plunge unless I hear raving reviews about it (install and function). May touch base with Orville as Mac suggested.

Here's the requested rave review. Rosin visors are simply the best. They are actually standard on restart Cessnas FWIW.

Have installed a set in my C120 (and every other aircraft I fly including a Super Cub and a 210). Takes about an hour in the C120 since there are no existing holes and must first drill for the rivnuts. Absolutely worth the money, particularly in Oct-March with low sun angles all the time.

Made a ten hour flight yesterday in a plane with Rosens and very happy they were there at various times in the flights.

Soapbox mode off.
