Martin, I have a 1946 low serial number (9290) C-120 with the now standard offset blocks on the landing gear. I would assume that your C-140 is same. Could you please confirm. I need to replace my tail springs when I return my aircraft to airworthy status. I too have the Scott 3200 tailwheel. I want to get rid of the tail shake for good and no the attachment bracket is solid and neither the bracket or mounting rivet field have any cracks. I ask this question because as I have come to learn from reading many articles on this problem the vertical pivot axis of the tailwheel must be pointed slightly forward, or so I seem to recall.
