Lifting eye bolts.

Post by drbob »

Most other cessna's have lifting eyes that go down through a hole in the spar block on the carry through spar. The parts book shows a seaplane setup with the lifting eyes but does not show a special block that is pre-drilled. Does anybody know if Cessna ever made 140 blocks with the vertical hole in it? Has anyone drilled down through to place them like on a 170?

I found a number of sets of lifting eye bolts and bought them. I'll be using one set on my 140 fuselage. You have to cut down the top washer some so it does not hit the spar where it slides into the carry through spar.
