Considering picking up a c75 for conversion to a c85. Requires a Stromberg carb. Anyone out there ever have experience doing this? And is the C75 worth converting or is it an albatross that should be left alone.

I think they both use Strombergs. The jetting is the only difference.

Specifically, the main jet and the venturi both need to be changed. This converts the Stromberg to a C85 carb. Or, you can just get yourself a C85 carb. Installing that carb on a C75 converts it to a C85. Model conversions are covered in Continental Bulletin M47-16. Problem is, to the best of my knowledge, Continental no longer supports these conversions, and will not issue a C85 data plate.
