Hello all,

Could someone please refer me to information or article regarding the proper functioning of the Hub?

After taking the cap off and looking inside the arms have wear and don't appear connect with the post grooves. Nothing I can see keeps the arms rearward (spring?) for free casting.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are asking, but, the springs in the chains pull the arms forward and grab the top of the fork like pliers. When the turning force on the fork is high enough it overcomes the spring pressure and forces the "pliers" open enough to allow the tailwheel to caster.

What I am trying to understand are the internals of the hub-kit. When you take off the top cover, you see 4 openings on each arm that connect to the chains. When the two arms are in place and stacked, the large cutout goes over the wheel post. The other 3 create channels that look like a pin or something belongs there. Mine have none. It seems those channels are there for a purpose.
Otherwise the wheel appears to track just fine.

I came across this picture. As one can see there are 2 posts that assist keeping the post locked or free as needed. Mine are missing.

Have others found these posts missing? Is this too far into the weeds and a $550 Hub-Kit replacement from Univair or Spruce the only route to go?

The tail wheel tracks fine as is, however, these pins should be an easy replacement?

From the lack of response I can only conclude others don't perform an IRAN on an existing Scott 2000 or have upgraded to the Scott 3200.

The only thing that makes the arms grab the fork is the springs in the steering chains.

The assembly is riveted together and not normally disassembled for service. I'm not sure what you're asking, but, there is a pivot pin with a grease fitting that goes through the two smaller holes. The copper ring goes between the two round bits and acts as a bearing.
