Is our key for the mags a standard Cessna key? The one I have is cut out of a Cleveland National T2, but seem unable to find one of those.. Mine came with only one set that makes me nervous, i would like to have a duplicate or two made. Stash one in the sock drawer and one in a spot in the hanger... Just to be safe... Mines a '47 140 if that makes a difference.

It depends on the brand for the mag switch. The parts catalog indicates the switch was originally Decker. That may now be the ACS switch but I'm not sure. A good locksmith should be able to match up the blank to your key.

I think I finally googled enough to find the key blank online. My buddies at TrueValue said order the blank and they'll cut it... Now its time to research sewing my own cowl cover!

My key was lost (not me..) so I borrowed the local mechanic's box of keys. Enough old keys in there to probably fit any aircraft on the field. There are only a few variations made. So took a working key to a local locksmith and had him make 8 of them. I think I have it covered now. :D

I ordered 3, so I will have 4! lol... I figure one on its own for normal use, one on with my car keys just in case opportunity presents itself, one in a spot in the hanger and one in the safe with the logs...
