Has anyone here bothered going ADS-B compliant yet? In and out, or just out? I imagine the SkyBeacon will be popular, but anyone gone the new transponder route? Or GDL-82 or other route?

I went the GDL-82 route. My old KT-76 transponder was ready to "go", so I purchased a package including the GDL-82 and a GTX327 transponder. At that time (06/'18) Advantage Aviation (Chino) was selling the two as a "kit", along with everything needed for installation plus pre-programmed for the aircraft. My friendly neighborhood IA installed (...with my "help" -- he only charged an additional 10% for that ). Even with the TXP R & R it only took a 1/2 day + paperwork time -- total cost under $2,800.00. First flight check and all subsequent have been 100% flawless. If I were considering today I'd probably be torn 'twixt the "bargain" priced Garmin 335 package on the high end, and the SkyBeacon on the low, but I remain very pleased with the GDL-82...and, if your current transponder is still OK, either the GDL-82 or the SkyBeacon seems to be THE answer...to me, FWIW. (I'm using the iFly 740b + "Ping Buddy" for "In" -- very pleased with that, too!) Mac
