I own N89107 a 1946 Cessna 140 with a Continental C90 engine and mostly stock electrical system. There was an intercom and upgraded radio installed years ago along with a Universal strobe light assembly. The lights have been fine up until about a month ago. Now when I turn on the Nav lights the instrument lights (on the same switch) come on very dim for a second and the circuit breaker pops. I have tried taking out all the light bulbs in the Nav lights and instrument lights, but it still pops. Any idea what is shorting, or where to start looking? Any help would be appreciated.

Check the wiring to the bulb sockets and make sure one of the hot leads isn't touching any metal.

That was it! Grounded old socket. Had it fixed and it’s working great! Thanks for the help.
