He guys. I’m looking for a simple instrument lighting solution. It would be nice not to have to remove or monkey with my panel. I don’t plan on flying at night but have to get my 3 hours in.

I assume you need the 3 hours so that you can get your Private or other Certificate.
Maybe you could rent an airplane to get the required flight time.

Get a flashlight with a red lens...
Do you have any instrument lights now? Which panel do you have? Adding something that would be approved is not cost effective for 3 hours of use.

A headlamp with a red led is the way to go. Mine has an overhead map light but I still use the headlamp often. Cheap and effective.
