Insulation/Sound deadener

I am doing the Annual Inspection on my 140 and have found fiberglass insulation behind the cabin panels.

It is not in good shape and looking through the IPC I cannot find any listed.

Is it something that has been added over the years or am I not looking in the right place?

Is it legal?

Is there a source for replacement?

Any information or suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,

Rick

Get it out of there. It will hold moisture against the aluminum skin. Clean any corrosion that may have developed and prime the metal. Install closed cell vinyl-nitride foam in its place. It's available from places like Aircraft Spruce and is approved.

Thanks John.

It didn't look right when I saw it.

Thankfully it was covered with cellophane to prevent moisture problems.

It is all coming out anyway.
