trying to put cleveland brakes on 140 . The axles on the plane are to short for the cleveland wheels, they need to be a 1/4 to 3/8 inch longer for the approved castle nut. Their is no way to put a cotter pin in nut slot and through the axle. If anyone knows the solution please post it or call 603998 6828 Thanks

Is the inboard race bearing against the axle, or is the felt seal getting in the way? There are a lot of variations in the way the seals fit for different applications. (Or did this already get answered?)

If you’re talking about the axle nut used with wheel pants, it’s a real pain to get the cotter pin installed. The pin has to be trimmed to the correct length. I have to put a slight curve in the pin to get it installed. The castellated nut uses two short cotter pins per side.
