1950 Cessna 140A

Post by vicm »

Cessna 140A is an all metal plane with less than 690 hours. It has a 90 HP Continental engine (75/80,76/80,75/80,76/80) with Slick mags, a rebuilt carburetor, and cruse prop. There is a "jump seat" installed. Extensive corrosion prevention measures have been taken with extensive use of zinc chromate primer, stainless steel bolts, nuts, screws and washers. It has Cleveland brakes with new pads, a Scott 3200 tail wheel, and a STC for auto gas. Installed antennas include communication, ELT and Transponder. Recent work includes replacing vacuum driven instruments with new/newer electric ones. Recent upgrades include: 1. New tires and tubes, 2. Airpath Pedestal Mount compass, 3. Artex ELT-345, 4. R.C. Allen artificial horizon (12 volt), 5. Falcon Directional Gyro Indicator (12 volt), and 6. Safe Flight Stall Warning unit.

Plane is currently hangered at the Sparta (MI) airport and buyer has the option of keeping the hanger. Plane has been hangered for last 26 years (or more). Log books are complete since 1968 (or longer. Annual Inspection completed August 2026.

Reasonable operating cost make this a good solution for the pilot looking to increase flying hours.

Included with the plane will be: 1. Texas Aeroplastics headliner and side panels, 2. Yaesu FTA-750 Handheld Air Band Transceiver with GPS and VOR. Adapters and cables for Headset and Push to Talk included, 3. Garmin GPSMAP 96/96C Portable Aviation receiver with lighter adapter, and more.
