Not the correct antenna!
For a long time I thought I had two NOS original antenna for a Cessna 140A. Turns out they are both for a 170A instead. I highly doubt I will buy a 170A just so I can use the cool original parts. This means I am looking for the antenna for a 140A now. It is on pages 128-131 of the 1949-1951 Parts Catalogue and shows kit number 0511022-7 or w-106A for just the wire part. It’s worth a shot. Thanks, Tom

Guess I’ll try EAA or Cessna Flyers forums.

Looks like an ADF antenna, might be good for a museum display?

Re: Not the correct antenna!
That's a LF (Low Frequency) Radio Antenna. My second 140A, N9633A has the set up, but the previous owner whom I purchased the aircraft from took the mast off the cabin roof although the mast base is still there, and removed the wire that was connected from an insulator in front of the windshield. That wire was then routed up to the top of the cabin mast then to an insulator on a mast riveted to the top of the vertical fin.

Re: Not the correct antenna!
Tom,
Is the antenna just longer? What's the difference?
Thanks,
Elliot

Re: Not the correct antenna!
Yes. I’m betting I can alter it if need be.
