A few years ago, I restored a C140 (take a look at the Gallery page of my website sportaviationspecialties.com) and became aware of the possibility of cracks occurring in the radius between the MLG axle shaft and the axle mounting flange. C120/140 owners often replace the original tubular axles with solid axles from Grove or other suppliers.
Now I am in the process of building a very lightweight amateur-built (much lower gross weight than a C124/140--no concern about overstressing the axles), and I'm hoping to find a set of the original tubular axles that someone has replaced that they would be willing to let go cheap. Anybody got?
Thanks much!
Mike Huffman

What would you take for two of them that are known to be free from cracks?
