The inside cover of the airframe log has the following narrative about the airplane. I am not John Ausley.
All logs to N76926 are lost. William C. Murphy, from Dolan Springs, Arizona started restoration about 1980. He overhauled the engine in 2006 under the direction of an IA. The engine was pickled and was not run until October, 2011. He epoxy coated the interior of the hull. He also painted the aircraft hull with C 120 Yellow Poly Fiber paint. Not sure how many years he worked on the project. When I purchased the project it had 1140 hours on the tach, I have no reason not to believe that is the total hours on the airframe. When he died the project was purchased by Colfax Motors in Las Vegas, NV, and the project and moved it to C. P. Aviation in Santa Paula, CA. C. P. Aviation did $16699.06 labor and materials to the project, including rebuilding the wings and painting with green epoxy primer. Both fuel tanks were rebuilt and new gauges were installed.. C. P. Aviation also replaced the control cables and pulleys and rewired the airplane.. Frank Motter, from Lancaster, California obtained the project from C. P. Aviation. I (John Ausley) purchased the project from Frank Motter in December of 2008.
