Pulled the muff off the exhaust during the annual and found some really ugly welds.
Anyone have either or both sides? With all the C-150 exhaust conversions out there, there should be plenty of them laying around.

Keep a watch on Ebay. There were quite a few serviceable parts and pieces in SNF & OSH fly markets over the years but few show up any more -- I suspect they've slowly been covered up in the corner of hangars (...sure happens to stuff in mine!
), but some do occasionally still show up on Ebay. Too, there's a couple of AC exhaust sellers that will "repair" yours, but for a hefty cost (...think $1,000 or so per side
). FWIW, WagAero sells a copy of the exhaust
bracket, 'though not "approved"...believe they're backordered right now. ...sorry, not much help.

If you're talking about the "pancake" mufflers, they were no good when new and haven't gotten any better with age. You're much better off replacing them with one of the O-200 conversions. Of course, the '46 straight pipes are better than either!
OBTW, the same exhaust will fit C85, C90 or O-200.

The straight pipes is what I have. They are simply three pieces of pipe welded into a crooked "Y."

Send them to
Dawley Aviation. They will come back looking like new.

Made for me for a striaght line Henlow Wilson fitment by a specialist vintage auto exhaust firm here in the UK. Stainless Steel with slightly thicker flanges. Exact copies except for a slightly reduced double bend compared to the originals. Not expensive.

I had a custom exhaust made up by Custom Aircraft Parts in El Cajon, CA. A little $$ but it was the best decision. Awesome system.
