Re: 2021 Convention
Getting away from Transponders and ADS-B for a moment, is there a guesstimate as to how many airplanes will be at the convention? This will be my first one. I'm looking to purchase a nice 120/140 in the near future and plan to attend the convention. Hopefully, I can learn a lot more about the airplanes and possibly find a lead to buy one (if I haven't bought one by then).

Re: 2021 Convention
Attendance at the conventions is never certain until the event. Weather plays a large factor in how many aircraft show up. Regardless there will be some airplanes there and just ask around, both David Lowe and myself will attend and we can show you the various differences and mods between aircraft.

Re: 2021 Convention
Hope you find a bird so you can fly in BUT if you dont come anyway that will make sure you find the right one. With all the knowledge at a convention you'll be steered in the right direction not to mention meeting great new "family" members.

Re: 2021 Convention
Getting back to ADSB as I read it on the FAA website it was sent to me from AOPA that it only takes a mode "C" and a phone call from outside class airspace.

Re: 2021 Convention
Hey, Was anyone able to get with the Atlanta folks to see if they can get us a path through their space for all of us without ADS-B? I do not have it and am not planning on getting it, but would love to fly in at least one day. I will drive in if not, but would be more interesting to fly it in.

Hello Jeffrey,
Thanks for your email. Those aircraft not meeting ADS-B out requirements can get deviation authority by the using the FAA's ADAPT tool at the link below.

Re: 2021 Convention
Wish it could be at a field where 76 year old aircraft could operate without 2021 technology. I have a needle and ball.
