The blast tube for the oil screen housing cooling has had about 6 inches cut off by previous owners unknown. I've made an extension, but I need to know how close the end is supposed to be to the screen housing.

I’d say a 1/2 inch or so.

I think mine is more like 1/4".
Just not so close as to constrict the flow of air.

Getting close to flying...a repair to the right wing leading edge skin, installing the wings, then off into the wild blue wonder (after an intensive annual, of course!).
